Jakarta, August 3, 2022 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo collaborates with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in improving the integrity of anti-corruption values and preventing corruption. This is manifested in the implementation of the "Technical Guidance for Empowering the Anti-Corruption Business World to Realize the Anti-Corruption Business World through Inculcating Integrity Values". This activity was attended by Nawawi Pomolango, the Chairman of the KPK and Hambra, the Deputy President Director of Pelindo.
"After the merger process, now Pelindo is the largest port operator in Indonesia. We realize that, the bigger the company, the more things that need to be considered, including the implementation of anti-corruption values. This component is important and needs to be understood comprehensively. detailed and thorough. This activity is an initiation from the KPK through the Directorate of Community Participation Development which aims to empower the public in the BUMN and private sectors to play an active role in efforts to eradicate corruption. To further optimize the event, the speakers were Kumbul Kusdwidjanto Sudjadi, Director of Community Participation Development, Amiudin Director of Business Anti-Corruption and Sugiarto Group Head Director of Gratification.
In his remarks, Nawawi invited all levels of Pelindo to improve integrity and good corporate governance. "Efforts to improve port governance must be accompanied by increasing the integrity of all agencies involved in these services, so that the system to minimize the level of corruption vulnerability can run optimally, one of which is through the Anti-Corruption Bimtek today," said Nawawi.
This activity is an effort to educate business players, especially SOEs to continue to prioritize business competition with integrity through improving the quality of public services, encouraging the development of anti-corruption awareness and behavior in the SOE business ecosystem, exploring the commitment of SOE business actors in order to improve integrity and governance. good corporate governance, as well as a forum for dialogue between experts in BUMN business actors in discussing strategic issues related to efforts to prevent corruption.
In order to realize clean port operational services, Pelindo and port maritime personnel signed a Joint Integrity Pact which was carried out at the end of 2021. In addition, Pelindo also has a Single Whistleblowing System reporting channel "Pelindo Bersih" where if there are indications of violations occurring in the environment Pelindo's working area, stakeholders and internal parties can report through this channel with strong evidence.
These things are done to provide excellent service that involves all stakeholders in the port work environment. “The implementation of good corporate governance in corporations is the responsibility of all of us. Therefore, the contribution of all elements in Pelindo must be involved and also requires support from all agencies at the port," concluded Hambra.
