Pelindo Subholding Records Container Flow of 8.2 Million Teus

Surabaya, October 20, 2022 - During the first nine months of 2022, the subholding of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas recorded the number of container flows reaching 8.2 million TEUs. This number is higher than the same period last year which was recorded at 8.1 million TEUs or grew by an average of around 1.15 percent. The container flow is a combination of 15 container terminals and 7 subsidiaries managed by the company.

Corporate Secretary of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) Widyaswendra said the flow of containers was dominated by domestic containers which reached 5.6 million TEUs or around 69 percent. Meanwhile, overseas containers reached 2.5 million TEUs or around 31 percent.

"We are optimistic that we can achieve the target of container flow by the end of 2022 which has been set by the shareholders, which is 11.65 million TEUs," he said, Thursday (20/10).

A number of efforts were made by PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas to increase the number of container flows, ranging from efforts to cooperate with terminals for self-interest (TUKS), operating government-owned ports through the cooperation scheme for utilization of state-owned goods (BMN). In addition, the company continues to explore efforts to synergize with other interested parties
