Pelindo Mutual Cooperation for National Mangrove Rehabilitation

Denpasar, 19 November 2022 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo is working together with several agencies to support national mangrove rehabilitation. This was stated in the Signing of a Joint Understanding on Mangrove Rehabilitation as a Social Responsibility Program (TJSL) initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

"We have jointly agreed to work together in expanding and improving the quality of mangrove rehabilitation and community empowerment to support the fulfillment of the national target of 600,000 hectares," said Arif Suhartono, Main Director of Pelindo.

This collaboration is also supported by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, PT Bukit Asam, Tbk, PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (TBP), the Indonesian Forest Entrepreneurs Association (APHI), the Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (APROBI) and the Palm Oil Association. Indonesia (GAPKI).

Previously, in 2021 Pelindo had carried out national mangrove rehabilitation with an area of 168.07 Ha. Pelindo has also been involved in community maintenance and empowerment programs as a form of support for small and medium business units through a mangrove derivative product processing program in Indramayu, West Java.
