Jakarta, 11 February 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo is committed to continuing to comply with regulations in the environmental sector in all of the Company's operational areas. As part of these efforts, the Company is submitting an Environmental Approval addendum to the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) for a number of ports, as a consequence of the Pelindo merger on October 1, 2021.
To speed up the process, today Pelindo held a kick off meeting with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta. Present on this occasion the Head of the Standardization Agency for Environmental and Forestry Instruments, Ary Sudijanto; Director of Environmental Impact Prevention for Businesses and Activities, Laksmi Widyjayanti; Head of the Center for Standardization of Environmental Quality Instruments of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Widhi Handoyo, and Managing Director of Pelindo, Putut Sri Muljanto.
"I appreciate Pelindo's commitment in fulfilling changes to the legal aspects of administration of environmental approvals that have been owned and also continual improvements to environmental management and monitoring which are mandatory," said Ary Sudijanto in his remarks. Ary Sudijanto also explained that in order to accelerate the Pelindo Environmental Agreement addendum process, his party gathered all related units in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to work together to oversee the process from start to finish.
Pelindo Managing Director Putut Sri Muljanto explained that this Environmental Agreement addendum was carried out as a fulfillment of one of the important mandates of PP 101 of 2021 concerning the Merger of Pelindo, where there is an obligation to adjust business licenses for changes in business entities. The change process is expected to be completed before October 2023.
"We are very grateful to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for such strong support to Pelindo. Fulfillment of the Environmental Agreement is our priority to ensure the port service operations carried out by the company run well in accordance with applicable regulations," concluded Putut Sri Muljanto.
