Jakarta, April 4, 2022 - A total of 63 Passenger and roro Terminals managed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo are ready to serve the 2023 Eid homecoming flow. In anticipating the predicted increase in the number of passengers, Pelindo is improving coordination with port agencies regarding inspection of passenger travel requirements , increasing information regarding ship schedules for prospective passengers, and also being supported by the Joint Post in 2023.
"In 2022, Pelindo will serve as many as 1.6 million passengers who use sea transportation for going home. This number is predicted to increase this year. Facing this, we are committed to ensuring the readiness of the facilities and infrastructure of the Passenger Terminal to support the smooth flow of Eid homecoming in 2023," said Pelindo Main Director Arif Suhartono.
Arif also added that the readiness of facilities and infrastructure was not only carried out at Passenger Terminals with high passenger traffic such as Tanjung Pinang, Tanjung Perak, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Makassar and Balikpapan but also at all other passenger terminals, so that homecoming flows can run safely. and smoothly, as well as complying with health protocols and provisions that apply when traveling by sea transportation
