Support BUMN Free Mudik 2023, Pelindo Provides Thousands of Bus and Ship Tickets

Jakarta, 18 April 2023 - The Ministry of BUMN this year facilitated more than 78 thousand travelers to celebrate Eid in their hometowns. The free homecoming program with SOEs in 2023 entitled "Homecoming Expected, Homecoming in the Heart" is a form of the government's presence to serve the community. This was conveyed by the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, when sending off the departure of thousands of travelers in 2023 at the Gelora Bung Karno GBK Area, Jakarta, Tuesday (18/4).

Of the 78,017 participants for free homecoming, 57,587 travelers used bus transportation. The remaining 16,590 travelers used rail transportation, and 3,840 travelers returned home by boat.

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) participates in and supports the free homecoming program with BUMN in 2023, by facilitating the departure of travelers by land and sea routes.

This year the Pelindo Group dispatched around 600 participants for free homecoming using 5 ships. The destination routes are spread over 7 locations namely Tanjung Priok to Sorong, Tanjung Priok to Ambon, Batam to Belawan, Kumai to Semarang, Kumai to Surabaya, Makassar to Namlea, and Makassar to Ambon.

Apart from that, Pelindo also provides 7,300 free bus tickets for travelers to various main destinations in Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi. The Pelindo Group bus free homecoming program participants are not only facilitated for their departure, but also facilitated for their return from their hometown to return to Jakarta, or Medan, Surabaya and Makassar.

Musa Tatisina, 53 years old, a resident of Cilincing, North Jakarta, admits that this free homecoming program has greatly helped him. Musa, who is going home to Ambon with his wife and five children, said that not every year he and his family can celebrate Eid in their hometown for financial reasons

"As soon as I heard about the Pelindo Group's 'Safe Homecoming' program, I immediately registered. This is the first time I have participated in the free homecoming program," he said.
