63 Pelindo Terminals Have Served 1.1 Million Passengers

Jakarta, 28 April 2023 - As of H+4 Eid 2023, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo noted that the number of travelers passing through 63 passenger terminals reached a total of 1,171,151 people. This number jumped 22 percent compared to the same period last year as many as 954,107 people.

Pelindo together with all port agency stakeholders continue to monitor the movement points of travelers and vehicles from all passenger terminals for 24 hours through the Lebaran Transport Post from April 7 to May 8 2023.

"Although the movement of travelers has experienced a surge, the handling of backflow at service nodes in all passenger terminals can be handled properly and safely, including during peak density," said Group Head of Corporate Secretariat, Ali Mulyono.

Of the total passenger movements on H+4 yesterday, the highest number of passengers were travelers passing through the Port of Tanjung Pinang with 141,808 people, followed by Tanjung Perak with 121,259 people, then Tanjung Balai Karimun with 82,137 people, then Makassar with 63,426 people and Balikpapan with 51,118 people.

On April 29-30 2023 (H+6 & H+7), return flows by sea are expected to still occur but not in too large a number. The Long Route - Ciwandan is also prepared to serve logistics and two-wheeled transport vehicles. The return flow for travelers using motorbikes from Panjang Port in Lampung, to Ciwandan Port in Banten, is planned to sail on D+6 or April 29, 2023.

"We are continuing to make efforts so that services at Panjang Port can run optimally, so that there is no congestion and can shorten the process to crossings to Ciwandan and Indah Kiat Ports in Banten," explained Ali.

Until D+4, Panjang Port traffic has reached 4,420 travelers and 3,830 vehicles consisting of 1,171 motorbikes and 2,659 logistics vehicles.
