Semarang, 11 May 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo Regional 3 Semarang Port has agreed to lend-use part of the HPL land it manages in the Semarang Port and Tambaklorok areas to the Semarang City Government. Later this land will be maximized by the Semarang City Government in an effort to deal with tidal floods.
This action was realized through the signing of a cooperation agreement related to borrowing land in the Tanjung Emas Port area to run a tidal flood management program. This agreement was signed by the Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, and Regional Head of Pelindo Regional 3, Ardhy Wahyu Basuki at the Semarang Mayor's Office, Wednesday (10/05).
This cooperation agreement is clear evidence that the industrial and service sectors together with local governments can work together in solving complex problems. This collaboration will provide significant benefits for the people of Semarang in reducing the risk of frequent tidal floods. It also shows how important a company's role is in making a positive contribution to the communities in which they operate.
Hevearita expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Pelindo for the steps taken in this cooperation agreement. According to him, this will be a good start in efforts to deal with rob in Semarang which will be carried out by the Semarang City Government.
"Hopefully this collaboration can be an example for all interested parties to jointly overcome the problems faced by our society," he said.
Ardhy said that this project must be implemented immediately so that the rob event will not have an impact on the community.
"Of course this is a good program from the Semarang City government and as a company we have an obligation to participate in the success of this program through the cooperation we signed," he said.
