Pelindo Subholding Collaboration Supports Equitable Education

Jakarta, 29 May 2023 - PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik or SPSL as the Pelindo Port SOE Subholding supports the acceleration of improving the quality and equity of education in Indonesia through the implementation of the free Package B Program.

According to the Central Statistics Agency, the dropout rate in Indonesia will increase in 2022. This condition occurs at all levels of education, both elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP) and senior high school (SMA). The dropout rate at the junior high school level was recorded at 1.06% in 2022. This percentage also increased by 0.16% from the previous year which was 0.90%.

This Package B program is a form of Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities and SPSL's active role in supporting the Government for educational equity. As many as 30 (thirty) students domiciled in the Company's work area participated in this program.

"This Package B program is a form of the company's commitment to continue to contribute in taking the role of reducing dropout rates and improving the quality of education. This program is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the 4th SDG goal, namely Quality Education," said Kiki M Hikmat Senior Vice President of the Corporate Secretariat (29/5).

In its implementation, SPSL collaborates with a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo and Subsidiaries of other Subholdings, namely PT New Priok Terminal Container Terminal One (NPCT1), PT Indonesia Vehicle Terminal, PT IPC Terminal Container, PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, PT Energi Pelabuhan Indonesia, as well as SPSL's Subsidiaries, PT Akses Pelabuhan Indonesia, and PT Multi Terminal Indonesia, and partnered with PKMB Aisyah as students.
