Supporting Drug Control at Cipinang Penitentiary, Pelindo Initiates the Color Pelita Program

Jakarta, June 8, 2023 -The high rate of narcotics crimes has resulted in a high number of inmates with narcotics cases in Correctional Institutions (Lapas) and Detention Centers (Rutan). This then raises new problems, namely narcotics abuse and health problems in correctional institutions and detention centers. Through the BUMN Care and Anti-Drug Response program for Fostered Residents (Pelita Warna), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) supports efforts to tackle the narcotics problem at Class I A Penitentiary in Cipinang, East Jakarta.

"The implementation of the BUMN Pelita Warna program is expected to reduce dependence on narcotics and improve the quality of life of prisoners and narcotics abusers. So that in the future, they can be accepted again in the social order of life," said Pelindo TJSL Head, Febrianto Zenny, representing the Pelindo Corporate Secretariat Group Head Ali Mulyono, during the launch of the Pelita Warna SOE Program, at Class I A Cipinang Lapas, East Jakarta, Thursday (7 /6).

Febrianto explained that the implementation of the BUMN Pelita Warna program covers three priority areas of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program, namely education, economic empowerment and the environment. In the environmental sector, there are 3 program activities namely Anti-Drug Socialization for Assisted Residents, Psychological Assistance for Assisted Residents, and Optimization of the Pelita Warna BUMN Library.
