Jakarta, 10 June 2023 - PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik or SPSL, which is a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) BUMN BUMN, held a coastal clean up (CCU) on the East Coast of Ancol, Jakarta, Saturday (10/6).
As much as 2.2 tons of waste, both organic and inorganic, were collected in the beach clean-up activities. Of the waste collected, around 94 percent is plastic waste. This is one of the facts that public awareness of environmental cleanliness is still relatively low. The beach clean-up activity (CCU) with the theme “Solutions to Plastic Pollution (Solutions to Plastic Pollution) and carrying out the #beatplasticpollution campaign, is part of the Social Responsibility Program (TJSL) in the Environmental Priority Sector carried out by SPSL in commemoration of World Environment Day 2023 and also as a means of educating the public to jointly maintain a clean environment and commit to reducing plastic waste.
"This collaborative activity between SPSL, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2, the surrounding community, and stakeholders, namely the Pademangan District and the local Kelurahan, involved 130 participants. A total of 54 Pelindo group employees are actively participating as part of the implementation of Employee Social Responsibility (ESR)," said SVP of HR and General Affairs of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik Edy Purwanto.
Also attending the beach clean-up activity for the District Head of Pademangan, Drs. Didit Mulyadi, MA., Secretary to the Pademangan Sub-District Head along with Muspika elements, Ancol Village Head, Pademangan Timur Village Head, Pademangan Barat Village Head, Pelindo Environmental Department Head, Sunda Kelapa Pelindo Regional 2 General Manager, Pelindo Regional 2 HSSE Head Department, Legal Department Head and Pelindo Regional Public Relations 2. Didit Mulyadi said there was a need for collaboration to encourage the community to instill knowledge and awareness in creating a clean, green environment free of plastic waste.
