Pelindo is Committed to Support the Development of the Bali Cultural Center

Bali, 31 December 2021 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo is committed to continuously supporting the Bali Provincial Government in the context of economic recovery in the tourism sector from the impact of the Pandemic, one of which is the construction of the Bali Cultural Center in Klungkung, Bali.

This commitment is stated in the Cooperation Agreement between the Bali Provincial Government and Pelindo which was signed jointly by the Head of the Bali Provincial Government Public Works Agency Nusakti Yasa Wedha and Pelindo Investment Director Boy Robyanto and witnessed directly by Pelindo President Commissioner Admiral TNI (Purn.) Prof. Dr. Marsetio, S.I.P., M.M. and Bali Governor Wayan Koster at the Bali Governor's Office Jaya Sabha on Wednesday (29/12).

In the agreement, Pelindo and the Bali Provincial Government agreed to utilize the material from the dredging project of the Benoa harbor channel and pond which is being worked on by Pelindo as stockpile material in the construction area of the Bali Cultural Center Area (PKB) in Klungkung Regency.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster, who was present and witnessed the signing of the cooperation agreement, appreciated Pelindo's support in the process of developing the Bali Cultural Center Area. According to him, this location will add to the treasures of tourism in Bali and be able to revive the local economy.

"The Klungkung Regency tourism area which will utilize the dredged material will become one of the environmentally friendly tourist destinations and can be proof of the collaboration between Pelindo and the Bali Provincial Government for the development of the tourism sector in Bali," said Koster.

Meanwhile, the same thing was conveyed by Pelindo's President Commissioner Admiral TNI (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Marsetio, S.I.P., M.M., according to him, the development of the Bali Cultural Center (PKB) area is also in line with the government's preparations for the G20 Summit, so that Pelindo's involvement in supporting the development of the region has become the responsibility of Pelindo as a BUMN that runs in harmony with the Regional and Central Governments.

“This project was initiated before the merger of Pelindo, after the merger of Pelindo, so we are trying to continue this project according to the planned target.
