SUPPORTING THE FULFILLMENT OF INDONESIA'S CLEAN ENERGY, PELINDO CONSTRUCTIONS THE BALI MARITIME TOURISM HUB LNG TERMINAL

Bali, 29 March 2022 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo, through the Subholding PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) synergizes with affiliates of PT Pertamina (Persero) which are members of the Gas Subholding PT PGN, Tbk, PT Pertamina Gas, namely PT Perta Daya Gas (PDG) and PT Bali Infra Gas in the form of the “Midstream LNG Bali” Consortium for the arrangement and operation of the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) location, Benoa Harbor, Bali. The LNG Terminal facilities and facilities will be built on land owned by Pelindo at Benoa Harbor.

The infrastructure arrangement process was marked by the Launching Procession of the BMTH LNG Terminal, Benoa Harbor in Bali on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, which was symbolically inaugurated by the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir accompanied by Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono, Pertamina Business Support Director Dedi Sunardi, PT President Director Perusahaan Gas Negara, Tbk. Muhamad Haryo Yunianto, President Director of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Drajat Sulistyo, President Director of PT Perta Daya Gas Arief Wardono, President Director of PT Bali Infra Gas Nurmansah Efendi Tanjung, representatives of the Regional Government and also attended by Director of Oil and Gas Program Development of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dwi Anggoro Ismukurnianto and Director of Development Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jisman Hutajulu's Electricity Program.

The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, positively welcomed the project of structuring and upgrading the LNG Terminal to support the government in fulfilling clean energy in the country. "When we talk about the BMTH LNG Project, we don't just look at one point. This is what we always encourage how we build a strong ecosystem to become an independent and sovereign country. Bali is a national tourism center, and SOEs will be a part of increasing Bali's competitiveness level and ensuring the economy in Bali grows again," explained SOE Minister, Erick Thohir in his remarks.

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia does not only rely on tourism access by air and land, but also access by sea. That's why SOEs through Pelindo will reorganize the Benoa Port, so that 4-5 cruise ships can be docked. "We are committed and ensure that the Benoa area will be filled with MSMEs and local brands, and will increase premium tourist facilities by building a shipyard for yachts. To support the development of tourism, MSMEs and employment, electricity is needed. That's why we build energy facilities here because Bali still needs electricity, especially green energy. In accordance with the government program which decided that in 2030 Bali will use green energy. SOEs will continue to develop not only Bali but also other areas, I hope SOEs will continue to contribute to developing Indonesia," continued Erick Thohir.

As one of the National Strategic Projects, Pelindo continues to organize Benoa Harbor as a Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) in accordance with PMK for the Economic Sector No. 7 of 2021 concerning Changes in the List of National Strategic Projects, namely by relocating the LNG Terminal which was previously on the south side of Benoa Port to the north side of BMTH at Benoa Harbor, and the location of the previous LNG terminal will be used as a Passenger Terminal Zone (Terminal 3 Cruise).

“This LNG terminal launching project is part of the restructuring of Benoa Harbor, where Benoa Harbor consists of 3 blocks, the first is an oil and gas terminal block, a cruise terminal block and a marina block. One of the reasons why this project was accelerated considering the current condition of the existing terminal is the landing path of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Together we know that Bali is an important destination, for that every project must of course support the Bali tourism program. This is why we moved it from its current location to the BMTH Development II location," said Pelindo President Director, Arif Suhartono in his remarks.

Furthermore, Arif explained that this BMTH arrangement project is very special because specifically for Bali the use of land is only 60% and 40% is used for green areas. "This is a form of our support for the development of the Bali region and this is also a Pelindo project which has such a large area used for green areas. This is our commitment to support Bali as a very important tourism destination," continued Arif.

The ultimate stage of BMTH development is planned to be completed in 2025, but for Marina Terminal it is expected to be completed in 2023. With this transfer, the docking capacity which currently only has 2 ships, will increase by 1 more, because the existing terminal is used for LNG will be converted into a cruise terminal as well, in the future BMTH is projected to have 5 cruise terminals. "We hope that the cruise terminal in Bali will develop, and as support for the cruise terminal, we will deepen the channel from 9 meters to 12 meters. We thank you for the extraordinary support from the government, both central and local governments," concluded Arif.

The physical progress of the BMTH LNG Terminal Arrangement and Improvement has now reached 20.5% and Revetment and Retaining Wall works are being carried out (area excavation, area embankment, SPSP erection, CSP procurement). The arrangement of facilities and equipment will be carried out in stages including adding pipes for the LNG line in the area of ​​the north side of the BMTH Benoa Harbor to the Pesanggaran PLTDG (435M Bypass Pipe), making a channel to the north side of the BMTH Benoa Harbor with a pool depth of -12mLWS, construction of an LNG Terminal with dimensions 250 m x 21 m, the addition of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) facility, adjustment of the electrical system according to the staging improvement, and fulfillment of port equipment according to the requirements of a dedicated terminal.
