Improving National Energy Security, Pelindo and Pertamina Develop Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal

JAKARTA, August 1, 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pesero) is taking part in efforts to improve Indonesia's energy security by entering into an agreement with PT Pertamina International Shipping regarding the synergy of cooperation plans for the development of the Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal (JIGT) at Kalibaru Terminal.  

Reporting from the World Energy Council in 2021, Indonesia's energy security ranks 58th out of 127 countries based on 4 indicators, namely the availability of energy sources, ease of access, affordability of prices and supplies, and the use of environmentally friendly energy.  

The signing of the cooperation was carried out by PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi and Pelindo Strategy Director Prasetyo, witnessed by Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono. 

"JIGT Kalibaru is a mega infrastructure project that is proof of the government's commitment to energy transition, this terminal is not only for national energy security but also for sustainable energy in the future," said Deputy Minister Kartika. 

JIGT, said Kartika, is also believed to be able to boost the competitiveness of Indonesia's logistics index in the global arena.  

 

"With its super modern and digitalized technology, JIGT is also Indonesia's proof for international standard logistics infrastructure projects that in the future can boost Indonesia's logistics performance index," she explained.
