Jakarta, September 7, 2023 - In the flagship ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) 2023 yesterday, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo presented four strategic projects in front of global partners who attended the Business Matching session at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta.
One of the four projects presented was the New Priok Terminal in Jakarta, as an expansion of the existing Tanjung Priok Port whose utilization has reached ± 70%. This expansion is necessary to increase capacity while maintaining its performance as Indonesia's main gateway.
Phase I of New Priok Terminal has been in operation since 2016, namely New Priok Container Terminal 1 (NPCT1) which is operated through Pelindo's partnership with global partners Mitsui, PSA and NYK Line. The realization of throughput achievement in 2022 reached 1.2 million TEUs, an increase of 7% when compared to 2021 of 1.1 million TEUs.
Currently, the basic infrastructure of Container Terminal 2 and 3 (CT2 and CT3) and Product Terminal 1 and 2 (PT1 & PT2) is being built according to international standards with a wharf length of 800 meters per terminal, a depth of up to -20 mLWS, and a container stacking yard of 32 Ha per terminal so that it can accommodate up to 1.5 million TEUs per year per terminal. Meanwhile, PT1 and PT2 each have an area of 24 Ha with a capacity of 500 thousand m3 per terminal.
