JAKARTA, 23 October 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo managed to score a non container goods flow of 125 million tons in the third quarter of 2023, growing 8% compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, container flows tend to be stable amid the challenges of a slowing global economy, which amounted to 12.9 million TEUs, or grew 1% compared to last year.
Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono said that the operational achievements were in line with the port service standardization program that Pelindo continued to run after the merger, both at container and non container terminals. The speed of loading and unloading services at a number of ports began to increase. For example, at the Belawan Container Terminal (TPK), the number of unloads more than doubled from 20 boxes to 60 boxes per ship per hour. In addition, at Ambon Container Terminal, the loading and unloading speed has almost tripled, from 12 boxes to 35 boxes under optimum conditions.
This was welcomed by Pelindo's service users who revealed that Pelindo's service standardization has facilitated their activities, including shipping and cargo expeditions.
