Pelindo Appreciates the Selection of Penglipuran, One of the Villages Assisted by the Company's TJSL Program, as the World's Best Tourism Village

Jakarta, October 24, 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo appreciates the inclusion of Penglipuran Village, Bangli Regency, Bali, in the list of the world's best tourist villages according to The United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Penglipuran is one of the 54 best tourist villages selected from 260 best village candidates in the world. This prestigious award was announced at the 25th general assembly of the UNWTO held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. 

The award recognizes villages that set an example in maintaining the beauty of rural areas, preserving cultural diversity, local values, and culinary traditions, as well as maintaining natural beauty. The head of Penglipuran Traditional Village, I Wayan Budiarta, received the award in person during the UNWTO's 25th general assembly. 

On the sidelines of the awarding ceremony, I Wayan Budiarta expressed his gratitude for the support from various parties, especially Pelindo, who helped develop and promote Penglipuran Tourism Village. 

Group Head of Corporate Secretariat of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), Ali Mulyono said, this award is clear evidence that collaboration between various parties, including SOEs through the TJSL assisted village program, the Village which maintains its traditional culture and the local community who maintain the sustainability and cleanliness of the village, can produce significant positive changes.
