Tackilng climate change impacts, Pelindo Maritime Services intensively plants mangroves

MAKASSAR, November 26, 2023 - PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) Subholding, part of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), is planting mangroves again. This is a concrete action of Pelindo Group in a collaborative program with the Coordinating Ministry for Ministry and Investment (Marvest), Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLKH) and Ministry of Marine Affairs and Binding (KKP).

Nationally, the mangrove rehabilitation target to be achieved is 600,000 hectares. SPJM as part of Pelindo, poured this target in the Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program today planting in a 3 Ha lahas. Pelindo group is approximately 2,599 ha, of which SPJM received 86 ha.

This activity was carried out on November 25, 2023 at Borongkaluku Hamlet, Borimasunggu village, Maros Regency which was attended by the Director of HR and General of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim, Rachmat Prayogi. Also with him were the President Director of PT Equiport Inti Indonesia, Muhammad Ayyub and the Finance Director of PT Jasa Peralatan Pelabuhan Indonesia (JPPI), Roy Fraser Simanjuntak.

Maros Regency was represented by the Head of the Environmental Agency and the ranks of the district government down to the sub-district.

On this occasion, Rachmat Prayogi explained, "This activity is part of the national mangrove rehabilitation activities, which SPJM is programmed for multi-year with a total planned planting area of 86 ha."
