Pelindo and Penglipuran Village Synergy, Realizing World's Best Village

Bangli, December 13, 2023 - More than 70 thousand tourists have visited Penglipuran tourism village every month during 2023. This high visitor interest corresponds to the title of Best Village in the World awarded by The United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in October 2023.

On December 7-9, the village successfully organized Penglipuran Village Festival X with the theme Bamboo Paradise. Present at the opening ceremony of the festival, among others, Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of Kemenparekraf Hariyanto, Regent of Bangli, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, Commissioner of Pelindo Muchtar Lutfi, and President Director of Pelindo Arif Suhartono, as well as other stakeholders.  

Bangli Regent, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, in his speech during the opening ceremony said "We appreciate Pelindo for helping and synergizing so that Penglipuran Tourism Village won an award from UNWTO."  

Penglipuran Village has been the object of Pelindo's TJSL Program since 2017, starting with an assistance program for supporting facilities and infrastructure such as the provision of MCK, angkul-angkul, patok hall and garbage collection motorbikes which lasted until 2021 before being included in the Assisted Village TJSL Program in 2022, as explained by Pelindo Commissioner Muchtar Lutfi.
