Two of the Twelve Ports managed by Pelindo Regional 2 received the Green Port and Smart Port awards from the Ministry of Communication and Tourism which were handed over directly by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Tugulafa Beach, Tidore Islands, North Maluku because they were considered to have met the Green and Smart Port criteria for management aspects, technical aspects (port, K3, environment and energy) and digital aspects, also attended the award presentation Deputy for Maritime Resources Coordination of the Ministry of Communication and Forestry, Firman Hidayat and Secretary of the Deputy for Coordination of Environmental Management and Forestry of the Ministry of Communication and Forestry, Dirhansyah Conbul, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral TNI Dr. Ir. Muhammad Ali, S.E., M.M., M.Tr.Opsla., Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, S.E., M.P.P., C.S.F.A. Pj Governor of North Maluku KH. Abdul Gani Kasuba, Lc accompanied by Forkopimda North Maluku.
Green Port is an international commitment to jointly maintain environmental sustainability. Green port can be interpreted as an environmentally friendly port. Ports that have fulfilled environmental management commitments and social responsibility in supporting sustainability business are a requirement to become world-class ports.
