Denpasar, January 4, 2024 - Benoa Port, Bali, successfully served the turn around or boarding and disembarking of Celebrity Millenium cruise ship passengers. The Maltese-flagged cruise ship brought 4,400 passengers on and off the ship (Turn Around). This activity is one of Pelindo's proud achievements, especially Benoa Port and BMTH as the entrance to sea travel in Indonesia.
The Celebrity Millenium cruise ship turn around process lasted for 3 hours, starting from 10:00 WITA to 13:00 WITA. A total of 5,200 passengers and crew members were successfully served in the turn around process. Several preparations were made to expedite the process including the preparation of luggage handling, the provision of mechanical and telescopic gangways, the flow of checking in passenger tickets to the immigration process.
During the process, Benoa Port was assisted by the Benoa Class II Kesyahbandaran and Port Authority (KSOP) Office, Immigration, customs and other related agencies and ship agents.
Karlinda Sari, Senior Manager of Law and Public Relations of Pelindo Regional 3, said that the Turn Around activity or embarkation and disembarkation of cruise passengers is an important moment for Pelindo, especially Benoa Port, this confirms that Bali is not only a reference for cruise tourism, but also a place for departing foreign tourists.
"The Celebrity Millenium cruise ship turn around process went smoothly and safely, especially luggage handling. This is proof that Benoa Port is ready to serve international cruise ships," said Karlinda Sari, Senior Manager of Law and Public Relations.
The Celebrity Millenium Cruise Ship docked at 05.00 WIB and departed from Benoa Port for Singapore at 16.00 WITA. The ship weighing 91,011 GT unloaded 2081 passengers and raised 2300 cruise passengers.
Karlinda added that in addition to the Celebrity Millenium ship, Benoa Port the day before had also docked the Regatta Cruise so that today there were 2 Cruises that docked together at Benoa Port.
"Not only did we successfully serve the embarkation and disembarkation process of 4400 Cruise passengers together, we also successfully served the berthing of 2 ships together at Benoa Port. Although it is not the first time, we are quite proud of this achievement". Karlinda concluded
In 2023, Benoa Port has served 48 cruise ships with a total of 77,864 passengers. Benoa Harbor has received 52 cruise calls with a total of 89,400 passengers in 2024.
