Jakarta, March 21, 2024 - Pelindo ensures the readiness of passenger and roro terminal facilities and infrastructure ahead of the 2024 Lebaran homecoming flow. In total, there are 63 passenger and roro terminals spread throughout Indonesia, namely Regional 1 with 11 terminals, Regional 2 with 9 terminals, Regional 3 with 21 terminals, and Regional 4 with 22 terminals.
"In 2023, Pelindo has served as many as 1.9 million passengers using sea transportation modes for Lebaran homecoming. The movement of people in Lebaran homecoming 2024 is predicted to increase to 2.09 million passengers referring to last year's realization. Facing this, management prepares facilities, adds internal operational officers and security from the TNI / Polri, increases the inspection of passenger luggage and socializes all service rates at the passenger terminal to the public, which is targeted to run smoothly, safely, orderly and safely, "said Pelindo's Group Head of Corporate Secretariat, Ardhy Wahyu Basuki.
Pelindo also synergizes with port stakeholders in terms of the Integrated Lebaran Transport Post 2024.Pelindo together with the Port Authority Office (KSOP), Port Health Office (KKP), Port Security Implementation Unit (KPPP) and other Government Agencies around the port monitor and control the flow of passengers, including in checking passenger travel requirements and providing information facilities to passengers.
In addition, Pelindo has renovated several passenger terminals such as Tanjungpinang Kijang Terminal, Palembang, Biak, Bitung, and Makassar so that they can serve passengers better supported by more facilities.
"Facilities such as passenger waiting rooms, prayer rooms, lactation rooms, body temperature checkers, and security personnel are prepared to ensure that passengers remain safe, healthy and smooth," said Tanjungpinang General Manager Darwis.
In addition, a number of anticipatory measures have been prepared by Pelindo in the face of bad weather predictions, such as in the Tanjung Emas Port Branch, Semarang.
"We have provided 56 pumps and are spread from the outermost points such as Jalan Yos Sudarso, Pos 1, Jalan Musang, Jalan Asahan, Jalan Ampenan, Passenger Terminal, Samudera Pier, Al-Mannar Mosque, Arterial Entrance Road, Jalan Usman Janatin, Jalan M. Pardi, RTK Timur, Kejaksaan, Ujung Jalan Deli, to along the main road of Jalan Coaster which is a vulnerable point for tidal flooding," said General Manager of Tanjung Emas, Hardianto.
Reflecting on last year in supporting the smooth flow of homecoming, especially on the Java-Sumatra route, Pelindo is preparing to reopen Ciwandan Port, in Cilegon on H-7 to H-1 for class I, II, III (Motorcycle) and class VIB, VII (Truck) vehicles to serve crossing ship routes. This is done as part of the Government's strategy in reducing queue density on the Merak-Bakaheuni crossing route.
