Lembar Port Records Positive Performance, Pelindo: Supporting National Connectivity

Lombok, March 27, 2024 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), or Pelindo, is committed to providing the best service in supporting smooth logistics and national connectivity. In Lombok, NTB, Pelindo optimizes the operation of Lembar Port, which focuses on the business segment as a non-gold terminal operator, including liquid bulk, dry bulk, general cargo and passenger services.

Since being operated by the company's subholding, PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) on August 1, 2023, Lembar Port has continued to show positive performance. Container flow until February 2024 reached 5,083 boxes, an increase of 31% compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, the flow of ships reached 3.04 million Gross Tonnage (GT), an increase of 23% year on year, and the flow of goods in the form of vehicles also experienced a significant increase, reaching 37.2 thousand units or growing 19% since February 2023.

"In Pelindo's port service chain, Lembar Port continues to show positive performance. We are committed to providing the best service for service users, including at Lembar Port," said Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono during a working visit to Lembar Port, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26-27, 2024. On that occasion also attended Pelindo President Commissioner Agus Suhartono, SPMT President Director Ari Henryanto, and SPMT Operations Director Arif Rusman Yulianto.

Arif emphasized that Pelindo continues to prioritize occupational safety and health, as this is an important investment in ensuring the sustainability of the company.

Lembar Port also manages the Gilimas Passenger Terminal, which is about 7 km from Lembar Port. The passenger flow through Gilimas and Lembar Terminals has recorded an increase. In February 2024, the passenger flow was recorded at 67.2 thousand people, up 82% compared to the previous year.

Gilimas Terminal also serves cruise ship berths carrying foreign tourists. Until the third week of March 2024, 12 cruise ships have stopped at Gilimas Terminal carrying 38.4 thousand passengers.

During this visit, Arif said that Gilimas Terminal has enormous potential in supporting the roro industry and tourism based on natural beauty.

"We are ready to provide the best service for cruise ships that stop at Gilimas Terminal. Cruise ships that bring thousands of tourists contribute to the growth of the tourism sector, which has a positive impact on the community's economy," Arif explained.

As a form of gratitude and concern for others, Pelindo Group through the Social Responsibility Program (TJSL) implemented the Pelindo Berbagi Ramadhan 2024 program, which was carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

 

Pelindo Group distributed compensation assistance to 8 thousand orphans, 75 thousand free food packages, 46 thousand free takjil packages, and distributed 1,000 Qur'ans. The Pelindo Berbagi Ramadhan 2024 assistance was distributed to the Loading and Unloading Workers (TKBM) and the surrounding community in its working area.
