Jakarta, April 3, 2024 - Pelindo managed to record a net profit of Rp 4.01 trillion (audited) throughout 2023, growing 2.6 percent compared to 2022 (year on year/yoy). This performance shows that Pelindo is growing well and solidly from year to year after the merger amid global economic challenges.
"Pelindo emphasizes its commitment in supporting economic growth, inter-island connectivity, and the sustainability of Indonesia's maritime sector, thus making a sustainable positive contribution to the nation's progress. This can be seen from solid performance, making Peindo continue to experience improved performance in 2023," Arif Suhartono - President Director said.
Not only that, Pelindo's contribution to the State was also recorded to increase, reaching Rp 7.3 trillion. This amount is higher than in 2022, with a value of Rp 7.2 trillion. The contribution is made through deposits of Dividends, PNBP, Concessions, PPH, VAT and PBB. Pelindo's positive achievement in 2023 is also supported by the continuation of transformation programs that have been carried out continuously since the merger in October 2021.
The growth of Pelindo's financial performance is in line with operational performance which also posted a positive trend. Container flow reached 17.7 million TEUs, an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2022. Likewise, the flow of goods realized was 170 million tons, growing 6% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the flow of ships in and out of the port reached 1.28 billion GT, up 7% compared to the previous year. On the other hand, the flow of passengers reached 18.1 million people, an increase of 20% compared to the previous year.
These achievements also show the effectiveness of centralized and standardized operational management at each port. The support of the latest technology such as Terminal Operating System (TOS), Pelindo Terminal Operating System Multipurpose (PTOS-M), and Phinnisi, which is an end-to-end ship service operating system platform, which is one of the pillars in realizing the goals of the National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE), has succeeded in having a significant impact on the shipping and logistics industry, significant cost and service time efficiency.
"This year, Pelindo will continue the transformation program within the company, while gradually striving to increase its role, not only as a maritime gateway but also as a traffic stimulator, which encourages the growth of goods traffic through the integration of industrial estates with ports," concluded Arif.
