MAKASSAR, 18 May 2024 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) synergizes State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) with PT Pindad International Logistic through the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the utilization of part of the land for the management and distribution of fish at Biak Port, one of Pelindo's managed ports in Regional 4.
The signing of the agreement was carried out by Executive Director of Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis and President Director of PT Pindad International Logistic (PIL), Suresh Ferdian at the 7th Floor Akhlak Meeting Room of Pelindo Regional 4 Office in Makassar, Friday (May 17, 2024).
President Director of PT Pindad International Logistic (PIL), Suresh Ferdian revealed that his party was very grateful for this cooperation and collaboration.
"Hopefully we can support and strengthen each other, starting from the first step with this cooperation agreement," said Suresh.
According to him, this cooperation step has gone through a process for approximately three months. The synergy between Pelindo and Pindad, as well as the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, he continued, can strengthen the fisheries ecosystem.
"Alhamdulillah, hopefully in the future it can continue and run smoothly, and actually bring benefits and goodness to all of us," said Suresh.
Executive Director of Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis in his speech said that Biak has always been famous for its fish.
"The challenge of ports, for example in the Papua region, is the visit of fishing vessels. Alhamdulillah, today we start from this point, trying to increase the visit of fish ships," Abdul Azis said.
This effort, he said, requires very simple infrastructure but actually production can be boosted to the maximum. "Therefore, when PT Pindad wants acceleration, we implement the short term first and then evaluate it to increase the escalation. Alhamdulillah, the team from PT Pindad is extraordinary, very agile."
"I salute and this is an extraordinary opportunity. We make this a priority scale. Hopefully we are all given health to carry out this investment," Abdul Azis concluded.
