PELINDO PASTIKAN FASILITAS OPTIMAL DUKUNG PELAKSANAAN PON XXI 2024 DI ACEH DAN SUMUT
Aceh, 05 September 2024 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo supports the smooth running of the 2024 XXI National Sports Week (PON) which will be held in Aceh and North Sumatra as the host.
Pelindo through Subholding Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), one of the Subholding engaged in non-gold terminal operation services in Indonesia ensures the provision of optimal services and facilities to the KM Kelud Ship which is docked at Malahayati Port, Aceh from 4 to 24 September 2024.
During this period, KM Kelud was used for floating lodging facilities for regional athletes, contingents, officials and parties related to the implementation of PON XXI in Aceh, which the PON XXI series was held in the period 8 to 20 September 2024.
It is calculated that KM Kelud can accommodate a total capacity of 2,600 passengers, and is expected to be a floating accommodation solution that can accommodate thousands of PON XXI participants in Aceh, while supporting the smooth implementation of the largest sporting event in Indonesia.
KM Kelud arrived at Malahayati Port on Wednesday, 4 September 2024, welcomed by Pj Governor of Aceh, Bustami Hamzah along with Aceh Forkopimda, Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Directors of PT Pelni and Pelindo Management represented by Branch Manager of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Malahayati, Agust Deritanto.
Head of Sub-Directorate 1 Dit. Lala Ministry of Transportation, Hasan expressed his hope that the provision of KM Kelud at Malahayati Port which functioned as floating accommodation for PON XXI events in Aceh could provide benefits for athletes, officials and supporters of PON XXI. ‘We hope KM Kelud can be a solution for the parties while still paying attention to the rules and cleanliness on the ship and around. For parties who want to use floating accommodation, registration is enough by showing an ID card related to PON XXI and the facilities are provided free of charge’.
PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Malahayati Branch Manager, Agust Deritanto, said that Pelindo has prepared the dock and other port facilities to ensure support for the smooth implementation of PON XXI. ‘We are ready to provide full support with the readiness of the docks and other facilities at Malahayati Port. We hope that the presence of KM Kelud can be one of the accommodation solutions for the parties during the PON,’ he said.
In addition, PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Corporate Secretary Finan Syaifullah added that Pelindo Group including Pelindo Multi Terminal will be ready to support the implementation of PON as a national sporting event held every four years. ‘We are committed to providing the best support for the success of PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra, by ensuring optimal facilities and services at our ports, especially in the host areas of North Sumatra and Aceh,’ he explained.
