Jakarta, 27 April 2022 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo Group dispatched 2,500 participants for Homecoming with BUMN with the theme Safe Homecoming, Healthy Homecoming to Yogyakarta, Solo and Surabaya using 50 buses at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan. In total, a total of 542 bus fleets were provided by 26 state-owned companies for 24.605 travelers. The travelers are not charged any fees for participating in this activity program.
The release of Homecoming with BUMN was carried out symbolically by the Minister of BUMN of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir along with all the Directors of BUMN who contributed to this activity. After two years of limited community mobilization due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year Pelindo Group also took part and became the third-largest BUMN that contributed to facilitating the return of travelers to their home areas.
"This year is a special year, after two years we are finally allowed to go home, this is part of our responsibility as BUMN in ensuring our profitability is good but of course, we also provide good service to the community. I advise travelers, I really hope to maintain mutual security and comfort, care for each other and maintain harmony during going home," said BUMN Minister Erick Thohir in his remarks.
The high enthusiasm of free homecoming participants who use buses proves that the free homecoming program is very beneficial for residents of Jakarta and its surroundings. This free homecoming program is one of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs previously routinely carried out by Pelindo every year.
