MAKASSAR, 22 April 2022 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo launched Mutiara Pelindo, a community of women working at Pelindo to support each other in their work and achievements with various roles, both as mothers, wives, and workers. The community with the tagline “Maritime Sisterhood” which is part of Srikandi BUMN aims to provide a forum for women working at Pelindo to support each other, build capacity, be able to adapt, and maintain a balance in their roles. The word "Pearl" itself is an acronym for "Young, Tough and Preservative".
Located in the Multipurpose Room on the 7th Floor of the Pelindo Regional 4 Makassar Office on Thursday (21/4/2022) which also coincided with the Kartini Day Commemoration, Director of Human Resources and General Affairs of Pelindo Ihsanuddin Usman and Chair of Pelindo Mutiara as well as Technical Director of Subholding Pelindo Container Terminal, Dothy was present in person. directly and launched Mutiara Pelindo.
"The Ministry of BUMN has given a clear target where we have to prepare at least 15% of the nominated top talents are women. Alhamdulillah, this year Pelindo has reached 11%. I hope that there will be more female leaders who contribute, not because of the quota, but because they have prepared themselves and are prepared by their environment so that they will be effective as leaders. This is our common challenge," said Pelindo Human Resources and General Director, Ihsanuddin Usman in his remarks.
“As is well known, the Ministry of BUMN encourages women to maximize their existence as career women by forming a Srikandi BUMN. I hope that women in all BUMN in Indonesia in general, and Pelindo in particular, can continue to grow their passion for work to be able to become examples of empowered women," said Tedi Bharata, Deputy for Human Resources (HR), Technology and Information at the Ministry of SOEs.
In his remarks, the President Director of Pelindo Arif Suhartono was grateful and appreciated the formation of Mutiara Pelindo. “I congratulate you on the official birth of the Mutiara Pelindo organization. This organization can be used as a forum and networking or gathering for Pelindo female employees to innovate and contribute significantly to supporting women's empowerment. I hope Mutiara Pelindo can also help the Company become a world-class integrated and world-class maritime ecosystem leader.”
“Our members consist of 1.326 female employees or 18% of the total employees. Alhamdulillah, 312 of them have been trusted to occupy structural positions. We would like to thank Pelindo management for providing opportunities, providing opportunities and facilities for female employees to be creative while maintaining a balance in their domestic roles. We hope that we can be hands-in-hand with management in making women empowerment programs to create more female leaders,” said the Chairperson of Mutiara Pelindo, Dothy.
In a series with the launch of Mutiara Pelindo, the Pelindo Sharing Ramadan 1443 H program has been implemented in the form of Eid packages to, among others, outsourcing staff, security, cleaning services, drivers and loading and unloading workers (TKBM) in Regional 4, Makassar Branch, Makassar Container Terminal ( TPM), Makassar New Port (MNP) and Pelindo Multi Terminal. Besides that, similar activities were also carried out in each of the work locations of Mutiara Pelindo management spread throughout Indonesia.
Amran, one of the TKBM at Makassar Port, thanked him for the Lebaran package containing the basic necessities he received. He said this Lebaran package meant a lot to him and his fellow TKBM friends. “Hopefully Pelindo will continue to be the best company, always growing and advancing. We hope that we will always receive assistance like this, especially in the moments leading up to Eid al-Fitr," he said.
Security personnel at Pelindo Regional 4, Wawan also conveyed the same thing. He even said that the Eid package assistance was very beneficial for himself and his family. "Hopefully Mr and Mrs at Pelindo will always be given health and strength, so that they can run the company well and we and other friends will also feel the great benefits from the growth and development of the company where we work," he said.
