Labuan Uki, 1 December 2024 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo is again trusted by the Ministry of Transportation to continue the service of guiding and delaying ships in Mandatory Class III Pandu Waters in Labuan Uki Waters, North Sulawesi in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Sea Transportation Number KP-DJPL 705 Year 2024.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 4 Manado, Nurlayla Arbie, said that Pelindo is committed to providing the best service for all port service users in Labuan Uki Waters.
‘Currently, Pelindo has also successfully carried out the operation of guiding and delaying ships at PLTU Sulut-2 Amurang well,’ Nurlayla said.
Seeing the potential for high demand, Pelindo expressed its readiness to expand services to PLTU Sulut-1 Binjeita, which is about 172 km from PLTU Amurang.
‘We have prepared a fleet of complete and licensed tugboats to fulfil the needs at PLTU Binjeita,’ Nurlayla added.
In order to support the safety and security of shipping at PLTU Binjeita, Pelindo has received a recommendation from the Head of UPP Class III Labuan Uki Office regarding the operation of guiding and delaying vessels in the area on 15 September 2022.
In addition, on 15 July 2023, Pelindo together with the Head of UPP Class III Labuan Uki Office at that time also conducted a jetty berthing test aimed at preparing to fulfil obligations towards the administrative requirements of the Permanent Jetty Operation Permit.
Chairman of DPC Indonesian National Shipowners' Association (INSA) Manado, Lucky H Nangsoy, supports Pelindo to continue to improve and expand its services as a state-owned port company. ‘I hope Pelindo continues to be consistent in providing excellent and professional services,’ said Lucky.
PLTU Sulut-1 Binjeita is a coal-fired power plant located in Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi. In its operation, PLTU Sulut-1 Binjeita is a PLN-owned PLTU which is expected to increase power in the electricity system of North Sulawesi and Gorontalo.
In an effort to improve the synergy of SOEs and support government programmes, Pelindo and PLN have also signed a Joint Agreement on Business Cooperation Synergy between Pelindo Group and PLN Group. One of the important points in this agreement is cooperation in the management and operation of Terminals for Own Use (TUKS) or Special Terminals (TERSUS) owned by PLN Group, including potential cooperation with PLTU Sulut-1 Binjeita.
