MAKASSAR, 6 December 2024 - In commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day which falls on every 9 December, Pelindo Regional 4 organised a series of activities to affirm the company's commitment to creating a clean, transparent and corruption-free work culture.
With the theme ‘Teguhkan Komitmen Berantas Korupsi untuk Indonesia Maju’, this activity was attended by all management and employees of Pelindo Regional 4. The peak event was held in the Lobby of Pelindo Regional 4 Office in Makassar with various educational and inspirational activities, including an Anti-Corruption Oration Competition involving employees as participants.
Executive Director of Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis in his speech conveyed the importance of integrity as a foundation in every step of the company. ‘Today is a momentum to reflect on our respective roles in realising a Pelindo that is free from corrupt practices. Integrity is our shared responsibility, and through collaboration and commitment, we can be part of the solution,’ he said.
Furthermore, he emphasised that the values of transparency, accountability, and work ethics must be the main guidelines in every operational process of the company. Pelindo, as part of a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) that drives the national logistics sector, has a strategic role in creating a clean system to support Indonesia's sustainable economic growth.
Meanwhile, one of the activities that attracted attention in this commemoration was the Anti-Corruption Oration Competition. Involving participants from various work units in the Pelindo Group Makassar working area, this competition aims to provide a space for Pelindo people to voice their ideas, ideas, and commitment to eradicating corruption.
Each participant was given a minimum of three minutes and a maximum of five minutes to deliver an oration in front of the jury. The winners of the competition consisting of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place received attractive prizes as a form of appreciation for their participation and contribution in supporting a work culture of integrity.
In addition to the oration competition, on Tuesday, 3 December, there was also an anti-corruption socialisation activity filled with interactive discussions with speakers from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The socialisation, which was conducted online through the zoom application, aimed to increase the understanding and awareness of all participants of the adverse effects of corruption and preventive measures in the work environment.
Pelindo hopes that this activity can strengthen the spirit and joint commitment in rejecting all forms of corruption. With the spirit of World Anti-Corruption Day, Pelindo is determined to continue to be a company that prioritises the principles of good governance for the sake of the company's progress and real contribution to the Indonesian nation.
