Pelindo and KAI Synergy Supports Public Transport Development Tanjung Priok Port Serves Arrival of New KAI Commuter Trainset from China

Jakarta, 1 February 2025 As a commitment to support the government's programme for the development of public transportation in Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo served the arrival of a commuter train set owned by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI / KAI Commuter) which docked at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta on Thursday (30/1).
Pelindo through the PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) Subholding, which focuses on non-gold terminal services, ensures that all port service processes in the unloading of trainsets originating from CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd, China run smoothly in accordance with procedures and are monitored in real time.
President Director of Pelindo Multi Terminal, Ary Henryanto emphasised that Pelindo Multi Terminal is committed to providing reliable services for all types of commodities served through its port, including ensuring port services in unloading this trainset.
‘The trainset is served by Pelindo Multi Terminal through its subsidiary, PTP Nonpeticemas, which operates a nonpeticemas terminal at Tanjung Priok Port. Of course, we positively welcome the arrival of this train set which will be useful as a means of public transportation that can meet the needs of the community, especially in the Jakarta area. We hope that this BUMN synergy between Pelindo Group and KAI Group can contribute to the development of a modern public transport system in Indonesia,’ said Ary.
This trainset was unloaded from the Xin Da Qiang ship which then unloading activities will be carried out at TPS Ambon Kade 202 Tanjung Priok Port. The estimated time to complete the unloading of the trainset is two days with good weather conditions.
Similarly, President Director of PTP Nonpetikemas, Indra Hidayat Sani welcomed the arrival of the trainset by ensuring the readiness of adequate facilities and an experienced team to handle the trainset.
‘PTP Nonpetikemas ensures that the entire port service process for this trainset unloading activity can run according to procedures and is monitored in real time. The provision of port services for the unloading of this trainset is carried out with the support of reliable infrastructure and superstructure, in line with the implementation of transformation at PTP Nonpetikemas. This unloading process involves various parties and requires coordination and high accuracy so that the train set can be immediately prepared for operation,’ Indra explained.
President Director of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) or KAI Commuter, Asdo Artiviyanto, expressed his gratitude to Pelindo for contributing in supporting the improvement and optimisation of commuter line services in the Jabodetabek area, especially in the first unloading of trainsets that ran on time and smoothly at Tanjung Priok Port.
A total of 11 trainsets are planned to arrive from CRRC in stages throughout the first semester of 2025, with the first phase of delivery being one trainset.
