Eid 2022 Pelindo Serves One Million Homecomers

Jakarta, 10 May 2022 During the 2022 Eid homecoming, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo recorded more than one million people traveling through a number of passenger terminals managed by the Company in the period H-15 to D+6 Idul Fitri 1443H. This figure has increased almost 4 times from the same period in 2021, which was 261,893 people.

"We noted that the highest homecoming flow occurred on D-3 or April 29, 2022 with a total passenger flow of 72.630 people, while the highest return flow while on D+4 or 6 May 2022 was 56.880 people," said Group Head of Corporate Secretariat Ali Mulyono.

The five dominant ports passed by the travelers are Tanjung Pinang Port with a passenger flow of 117.283 people, Tanjung Perak Port with 86.519 passengers, Tanjung Balai Karimun Port with 64.110 passengers, Makassar Port with 47.201 passengers, and Balikpapan Port. with a passenger flow of 41.717 people.

"Pelindo supports the Government's program through 59 existing passenger terminals managed by Pelindo, including making Ciwandan Port, Banten and Panjang Port, Lampung as alternative ports for homecoming activities in order to reduce the density of the Merak-Bakaheuni crossing. In anticipating the smooth flow of going back and forth for Lebaran, in addition to mooring facilities, Pelindo has also prepared service and security officers with a 24/7 pattern, terminal facilities that support the comfort of passengers, vehicle parking areas, tents for resting places, prayer rooms, toilets, lactation room, and others.

 

"We are also improving coordination with port agencies regarding inspections of passenger travel requirements, increasing information regarding ship schedules for prospective passengers, this is also supported by the 2022 Lebaran Transport Monitoring Joint Command Post which is ready to serve on 17 April 2022 – 18 May 2022," he concluded.
